Maggie is a beautiful Golden Retriever who was welcomed to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. Maggie is a wonderful dog but came to rescue very shut down and terrified of the world around her. She has come a long ways since arriving to her foster home but still has a ways to go. She will require a family that understands her needs and has the patience and gentle touch that she requires. Maggie has not had a single accident while with her foster family, she has taken to the housetraining very quickly (that's not to say accidents won't happen). She is also crate trained and finds great comfort in having a crate available to her. Maggie is beginning to enjoy human touch and affection, she will go up to her foster mom for "loves". She has also discovered she really likes balls and plush squeaky toys!
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Maggie has been spayed and received a dental cleaning while in rescue, tested negative for heartworm & tick borne diseases, is current on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $600 plus tax. More about MaggieGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Timid, Skittish *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
