Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I would like to meet a dog on your website. How do I set that up? A: Our dogs are available to meet at our adoption events and meet and greets. If considering adoption, please read about our adoption process and requirements here An application is required prior to scheduling a private meet and greet. Q: Is Sioux Falls Canine Rescue a Non-Profit? A: Yes, we are a registered 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization and funded entirely by donations. You may view our determination letter from the IRS here Q: What are your hours and where are you located? A: We do not have a physical location or shelter, and do not have official "business hours". All of our rescue dogs are with foster families until placed into forever homes. We are based in Sioux Falls, SD. Q: Do you adopt out of state? A: Yes. We do not have a specified radius but it must be within reason. All potential adopters are required to follow our adoption process and complete a virtual home visit. Adopters must be willing and prepared to travel to Sioux Falls, SD to pick up their dog and finalize the adoption in person. We will not ship dogs under any circumstances. Additionally, if at anytime an adopter is no longer able to care for their SFCR dog we require that the dog be returned to us. Q: I have items to donate. Where can I bring them? A: Thanks for thinking of us! If you have gently used items to donate (dog supplies, unopened dog food, towels/blankets, money raised, etc.), please send us an email at sfcaninerescue@outlook.com to arrange drop off/pick up.
