Meet Dani!

Dani is a 18-pound Cavalier with a gentle soul and a whole lot of potential. While she's still nervous around humans and needs time to feel comfortable, this sweet girl is starting to enjoy the gentle touch of pets and cuddles. She's learning that humans can be kind and safe, and each day she's making progress in her journey toward trust.

Dani absolutely loves other dogs and finds comfort and confidence when she's surrounded by her furry friends. She's still getting used to being picked up, but she's learning to relax when she sits snuggled in a warm lap. With patience, love, and a calm home, Dani will continue to grow into the loving companion she was always meant to be.

This sweet girl is ready to find her special person who will show her the world isn't so scary after all. Are you the one to help Dani feel safe and loved?

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep her safe - no invisible fences. Dani does not walk on a harness/leash at this time.
  • Resident dog to help lead Dani and teach her how to "dog".

More about Dani

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Timid, Skittish

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
