Nilla  is a sweet female Coton de Tulear that loves to play with her foster sister, running and playing in the backyard.  Nilla  is a smart girl who is kennel and house trained She has found a special spot in the corner of the backyard to go to the bathroom. Foster mom has potty pads in the house for cold days, but she prefers to go outside.  Nilla  walks well on a leash and doesn’t pull. She has not pottied while leashed and if she decides she is tired of the leash she will plop down to the ground and not move any further. In the evening  Nilla  likes to chill after a full day of playing by sitting with foster mom, curled up in a dog bed or snuggled up in her kennel until it’s time for bed.  Nilla  knows the words treat, cheese, brush your teeth (greenie) go outside, go to bed, go potty.  Nilla  prefers not to be alone whether it be with another dog or with her human.

Nilla will "dance" on her hind legs for treats :)

More about Nilla

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
