Rudy is a very handsome havanese puppy. He came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding situation.

Rudy was deprived of adequate socialization at a young age and was very shut down when he first arrived to rescue. He is making good progress with his foster family but will have special requirements to help him succeed with a forever family.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe - no invisible fences.
  • Confident resident dog to help show Rudy the ropes.
  • Family with the time and patience required to properly train & raise a puppy. Rudy will also need a family willing to help him continue to build confidence and come out of his shell.
  • Rudy would do ok with respectful, dog savvy kids ages 10 and up.

Rudy has been neutered while in rescue. He tested negative for heartworm and tick-borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $650 plus tax.

More about Rudy

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Playful, Timid, Affectionate

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
