Oakley is a very sweet cavapoo who made her way to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeder. She was very shut down and terrified when she arrived to rescue but has made so much progress with her foster family.

Oakley is crate trained and associates her crate as being a very safe place. She has done phenomenal with housetraining and picked it up very quickly.

Oakley is still timid but has really come out of her shell and is building more and more confidence each day. The confident dogs in her foster home have made a huge difference and have helped her tremendously.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Confident resident dog to continue to help Oakley build confidence and learn how to "dog".

Oakley has been spayed and had a dental. She is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, dewormed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

More about Oakley

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
