Nick is a very handsome and very sweet Golden Retriever/Poodle mix in search of his forever family.

Nick was very shut down when he initially arrived to rescue, he has made great progress with his foster family but will need to continue socialization and confidence building.

Nick is crate trained and considers his crate a very safe place to hang out and sleep, he is working hard on his housetraining and doing quite well.

He now enjoys playing with toys and loves the two large dogs in his foster home, they have helped him tremendously with learning how to "dog". Nick had zero experience with leash walking but went for his very first walk around the block this week and did very well!

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard.
  • Confident resident dog.
  • Family with the time & patience required to raise, train, and socialize a puppy.

Nick has been neutered while in rescue. He tested negative for heartworm, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $600 plus tax.

More about Nicholas (Nick)

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Timid

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
