Tucker is a very handsome Havanese boy who came to SFCR after a life of commercial breeding. He is enjoying what his new life has to offer but is very timid and needs extra time to warm up to new people and environments. Tucker is crate trained and working on his house training although it is still a work in progress. He wears a belly band in the house to help with this. Tucker will need a very calm and patient family to help bring him out of his shell and teach him what being a dog is all about.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Tucker has been neutered and received a dental cleaning (with 3 extractions) while in rescue. He tested negative for heartworm and tick borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $350 plus tax. More about TuckerGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
