Buddy is a charming golden retriever puppy who came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. He is loving all that his brand new life has to offer and he definitely has the genuine golden retriever personality.

Buddy has done very well while in foster care - he is crate trained and working hard on his housetraining. He loves toys and playing with the other dogs in his foster home.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard - leash walking is a work in progress.
  • Confident (similar sized) resident dog to help Buddy continue to build confidence.
  • Family with the time and patience required to raise & train a puppy.

Buddy has been neutered, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $650 plus tax.

More about Buddy

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Playful, Eager To Please

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
