Tank is an adorable cocker spaniel/mini poodle mix that came to SFCR after spending the first 8 months of his life in a commercial breeding facility. 

Tank is working hard on his housetraining and has done very well. He is also crate trained and used to sleeping in a crate at night. Tank does very well with the other dogs in his foster home and loves to be on his foster mom's lap. He also very much enjoys going on long walks (when it is cool enough outside, of course).

Tank is still a puppy and needs lot of toys and chews to keep him busy. Tank is a bit bigger and more of a leader than his brother, Teddy. He loves to run, play, and be active. He is a very smart boy and would excel in obedience classes. 

 

ADOPTION REQUIRMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard preferred but not required. Priority will be given to applicants with a fenced in yard.
  • Patient family with the time and patience required to raise and train a puppy.

Tank has been neutered while in rescue, tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $600 plus tax.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
