Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Honey is a sweet little yorkie who came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. Honey is need of sponsors to help cover her veterinary expenses. She came to us with a large mammary mass that has been removed and sent off for histopathology. We are waiting on results and hopeful for good news. The anesthesia time during her spay/mammary mass removal was getting a bit long so she will need to go back in a couple weeks to finish up her dental (she also has very bad teeth and will likely need many extractions). More about HoneyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Likes to be in your lap, Affectionate *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
