Olaf is a sweet little Maltese that came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. He is loving his brand new life and soaking up all of the love and attention from his foster mom. Olaf is working hard on his housetraining and doing pretty well but does use a belly band in the house to help keep him honest. Olaf loves the other dogs in his foster home and doesn't mind cats either. He has spent some time with 6 & 8 year old kids - he loved being the center of attention and doted on. He soaked it all up and would love a family with dog savvy kids to love on him. Olaf came to rescue with horribly infected teeth. He received a dental at the time of his neuter that unfortunately resulted in full mouth extractions. Olaf doesn't mind one bit and truly feels so much better without the rotten and painful teeth in his mouth. He eats his kibble softened with warm water and is feeling like a brand new dog!

More about OlafGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Cratetrained, Likes to be in your lap, Timid, Affectionate *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
