Millie came to SFCR after being rescued from a SD reservation. She was very skinny when she first arrived and it is believed that she weaned puppies prior to being abandoned.

Millie is a very sweet and very active girl! She requires a decent amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation. She is working hard with her foster mom to learn a few commands as well as leash manners. She loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home and will gladly join her foster mom on the couch for snuggle time :)

Millie is a great dog and very eager to please. She is ready to find a perfect forever family of her very own!

 

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Active family willing and able to provide Millie with an adequate amount of daily exercise and mental stimulation.
  • Large fenced in yard or acreage preferred - Millie would not do well in an apartment or townhome.
  • Due to her size and energy level, Millie should go to a home with children ages 10 and up (to avoid little ones being accidentally knocked over).

Millie has been spayed, tested negative for heartworm & tick borne diseases, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
