Cavalier King Charles Spaniel : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Rose is an incredibly sweet and affectionate cavalier that came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. Rose loves to run around her foster family's fenced backyard and romp around with the other dogs - she also enjoys chewing on Nylabones. Rose has a grade IV heart murmur that requires her to take a daily medication called Pimobendan (recommendation of veterinary cardiologist). Her heart condition is not curable but is manageable with medication and monitoring. Rose definitely doesn't let it stop her and does not have any cardiac symptoms at this time. She will need regular check ups with the veterinarian (every 6 months), her medication costs around $45 a month. Rose is a very sweet girl with so much love to give.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
