Cocker Spaniel : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Ivy is a sweet little Cocker Spaniel that came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. She is a bit timid at first but once she warms up to you, she is all yours. She loves to sit in her foster mom's lap on the couch and be petted. Ivy has done very well with her housetraining but does not understand the concept of wearing a collar/harness or walking on a leash. Because Ivy is so skittish, she would do best in a home with older/respectful children only.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Ivy has been spayed and received a dental cleaning while in rescue. She is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500 plus tax. More about IvyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Gentle *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
