2/11/2021 Update: Lucy's adoption has been put on hold. Sweet little Lucy has tested positive heartworm disease and will not be available until after her treatment is complete and she receives a clean bill of health. Lucy is in need of sponsors to help cover her medical expenses as heartworm treatment is very expensive. Lucy is a 1 year old Beagle and sweet as can be. She came to SFCR all the way from Alabama - where she was found in a field and extremely emaciated. Lucy was covered in engorged ticks, full of intestinal worms, very underweight and malnourished, and was fighting a uterine infection. Lucy is so grateful for the exceptional care she has received while in rescue - she shows her gratitude with endless tail wags and puppy kisses! Lucy is a very mellow beagle and loves to lay on big fluffy dog beds! She enjoys stuffed squeaky toys and treats of all kinds! Lucy adores kids and does well with cats. Lucy is currently in a foster home with other dogs and interacts well with them but does become possessive of food and treats. Lucy is doing very well with her housetraining and is crate trained. It will be required that her forever family enroll her in obedience classes to help her learn lots of new things, including manners and basic obedience. Lucy is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, has received flea/tick prevention, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $400 plus tax.
