Willow is an incredibly sweet gal who came to SFCR all the way from Alabama. She has come a long way since coming to rescue in December of 2020 but will need a patient family willing to help her continue to build her confidence. Unfortunately, Willow tested positive for heartworm while in rescue - the good news is that she has tolerated treatment very well! She received her last two injections in early July and has an appointment on August 6th for microfilaria testing. As long as her microfilaria test comes back negative, she will be ready to go home anytime after that. Prior to coming to rescue, Willow had no idea what a leash or collar was but she has discovered that they aren't so bad and really enjoys walks. Willow is not very interested in toys, but loves to be petted. Willow gets nervous and will hide when small children are around so she must go to a home with older and respectful kids only. Willow is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and has been treated for heartworm disease while in rescue. Her adoption fee is $500 plus tax. Adoption Requirements:
More about WillowGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Requires a yard, Skittish, Eager To Please *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
