Sugar is a sweet, loving, and playful puppy. She loves toys, especially tennis balls.

She loves to be outside. She is still working on her housetraining and does have occasional accidents, but she is doing well with it. She is crate trained but prefers to be with her people.

She loves playing with other dogs her size - playing with her foster sister is one of her favorite things to do. She will walk up to you for pets and snuggles, and loves everyone she meets. Sugar is still working on leash training and basic commands. She does not jump up on people or counter surf. Her foster family says she is such a good girl and will make someone an amazing family member and companion.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physically fenced in yard - leash walking is still a work in progress.
  • Confident (similar sized) resident dog preferred.
  • Family with the time and patience required to raise & train a puppy.

Sugar has been spayed, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $650 plus tax.

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
