Murphy (Murray) is an incredibly handsome golden retriever. He recently came back to SFCR due to some family and schedule changes. Murphy originally came to rescue from a commercial breeding facility. He was behind on socialization and will need a very patient family willing to help him build confidence and come out of his shell. Murphy will require ample time to decompress and settle in, he will also need extra time to build trust and bond with his forever family. A confident resident dog to help teach Murphy how to be a dog is a must. Murphy loves toys but non-toy items need to be kept out of reach as Murphy previously had to undergo surgery to remove a foreign object he had consumed.
ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Murphy has been neutered, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $600 plus tax. More about Murphy (Murray)Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Requires a yard, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Timid *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
