Snowman is a very sweet schnauzer boy who came to SFCR after being released from a commercial breeding facility. Snowman is sweet but extremely skittish and scared - living in a home setting is all new to him and he will need a very patient family willing to give him the time he needs to adjust and acclimate. He doesn't quite understand that human touch is supposed to be a good thing. Snowman connects better with dogs and will require another resident dog in the home that he can learn from.

ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Only children 12 and up in the home with healthy dog boundaries
  • Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe
  • Resident dog to help him build confidence and trust in humans

Snowman was neutered and received a dental while in rescue. He is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 plus tax.

More about Snowman

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Cratetrained, Timid, Skittish

*All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped.

Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
