Hi there, I'm Sandy! I'm a sweet little Havanese girl and learning all about life as a house dog :) I'm still pretty skittish as I have not had much prior human interaction, but I am trying really hard to trust people. I'm working on my housetraining and house manners. I love the other dogs in my foster home and even try to get them to play with me! I must go to a home with a fenced in yard to keep me safe as I have never been taught to walk on a leash and harness. I also need a quieter home, without small children, and someone with the patience to help me continue to build confidence. I am now spayed, had a dental cleaning while in rescue, up to date on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne diseases, and started on monthly heartworm & flea/tick prevention. I am 5 years old; my adoption fee is $400 plus tax. More about SandyGood with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly. |
